Sambar – Male
One of the most magnificent antelopes found in the indian jungles, The sambar deer are found across the south east asia including parts of china.
A vulnerable species due to loss of habitat and excessive hunting, the deer prefers dense forest conditions and often found near the swamps or water bodies. The animals are solitary while females have been seen forming small groups of around 5 -6 animals.
The deers have also been successfully introduced in parts of Australia, South Africa, New Zealand & North America.

Indian Boar
Indian wild boars are found commonly across the indian sub continent while been relatively less threatened. The indian boars are the long maned species with a larger flat head. The 2 species found in india are the Indian boar and the Central asian boar. The asian species are competitively smaller in size as compared to the european species.

A native to the indian sub continent, Chital or Axis Deer is one of the most beautiful and commonly found antelope species found in India.
Living in large herds during monsoons and smaller herds in the dry season, the deer are easy to spot across grasslands and deciduous forests.
The deer are hunted by almost all the predators in the animal and reptile kingdom. The deer have also been successfully introduced in other continents including Australia, South america and North america including Hawaii making it a species of least concern.

Majestic is the word!!!
One of the most beautiful animals found across the country. The gaur is now a threatened species. The animals have become extinct in Sri lanka and Bangladesh but still are still found in other south asian countries including china. The massive size and the strong muscular built makes this animal a must watch on any location visit in the south west or north east india where the animals are found.
The tiger and the saltwater crocodile are the only predators who can hunt the larger animals. Whereas the dholes (wild dogs), leopards & Mugger crocodiles are known to hunt the smaller juvenile animals.
